The plain facts behind the project, in one place.

1. i.

   What SHROUD is

   SHROUD is an independent cultural and editorial project about privacy, anonymity and identity. Its chapters and theses set out a point of view.

   SHROUD does not currently operate a privacy tool, protocol or service, and nothing on this site promises anyone anonymity. Where we describe privacy technology, we are describing the work of others.

2. ii.

   Not a financial offer

   Nothing on this site is an offer or invitation to buy any token, security or other financial product, and nothing here is financial, legal or security advice.

3. iii.

   Partners

   The organisations listed under In Company are confirmed partners of SHROUD. Their names and logos are their own trademarks, shown with their permission. Each description summarises that organisation’s public work; each organisation speaks for its own products and positions.

4. iv.

   Acknowledgement

   SHROUD has been recognised by Vitalik Buterin, and we are grateful for it. That recognition concerns the project’s work and ideas. It is not an endorsement of any token, investment or financial product.

5. v.

   Quotations and figures

   Quotations are short extracts used for commentary, each credited to its author; the works remain theirs. The figures on the page (the cloak, the selective-disclosure specimen and the wall of data behind the clock) are illustrations of ideas, not records of real people.

6. vi.

   This site and your privacy

   The site sets no tracking cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts. The only cookie is a sign-in cookie used by the administrator.

   The site is hosted on Vercel. The copy at shrouds.eth.limo is served through eth.limo and IPFS, and loads its live content (the clock, partners and links) from the same Vercel server. Like any web service, these see ordinary request details such as IP addresses.
